French Community Coordinator

Position Overview:

Working closely with the Community Manager, Brand Manager, Studio Communications Manager and PR Manager, the French Community Coordinator will assist in the creation and realisation of the community strategy for Total War titles in French-speaking markets. The holder of the position will be a vital public face for the studio, maintaining relationships directly with a demanding public fan base.
The French Community Coordinator will be expected to effectively manage the relationships between the studio and the general public, as well as engaged Total War fans. They will have a hands-on role in planning and executing the brand’s community strategy, in particular reference to the needs of the French-speaking community.
In addition to strong planning and time management skills, the role demands enthusiastic public relationship management, patient, professional, yet friendly communication abilities and will serve an essential function in ensuring Total War continues to be received by gamers as a leading franchise and positive entertainment experience.
The holder of the position will also be comfortable working on the studio’s community web show, Rally Point, and will ideally have skills in presentation and an interest in art and video editing – as well as experience of YouTube, Facebook and other social media platforms.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist in the development of the community plan for the upcoming product, ensuring input and approvals have been achieved from the Community Manager, development, brand, digital and the global PR & community teams elsewhere in the company as required.
  • Actively research external communities, as required by the IP strategy and high-level studio and marketing plans. Explore opportunities to capitalise on those communities and integrate our own efforts. Consolidate with existing strategies where efficiencies of communication can be made.
  • Schedule dates for all asset deliverables and ensure regular communication of planned dates to the rest of the TW Brand team in particular conjunction Community Manager, Studio Communications Manager and PR Manager.
  • Translate, adapt and generate localised content for our French-speaking audience as required by the marketing plan for each title and over-arching brand strategy.
  • Report regularly, via the Community Manager, on engagement, performance and community-raised issues and advise on resultant best practice regarding feature implementation in game and marketing and PR communication.
  • Assist the Community Manager in the organisation of community events locally and/or overseas.
  • Devise initiatives and content and proactively seek opportunities to grow and expand the reach of TW community activities, driving engagement and interaction rates positively week on week.
  • Influence strategy on the established social network channels and the official Total War website in relation to French language requirements, plus any external communities. Recommend and, with the Community Manager, implement changes, optimisations and expansions on these channels as required.
  • Take ownership for content updates to all social media outlets for the French market, TW.com and CA.com for the product. Ensure a high quality of engaging content is regularly delivered and implemented across the network.
  • Perform additional community relations duties related to the promotion and recruitment needs of the studio itself, as a business, as required from time to time.
  • Represent the studio and the Total War brand internally and externally to a professional level at all times.
  • Represent, protect and manage our partner licensed IP within the duties of the role to the highest possible standard, trafficking all material through the appropriate 3rd-party procedures as required.

Communications Manager – Alien IP

Position Overview:

Working closely with the Brand Managers and Brand Director, the Alien IP Communications Manager will ensure the development, communication and realisation of the global PR strategy for all Alien IP products. The holder of the position will liaise between the studio, FOX and SEGA’s PR teams to ensure consistency of message & campaign narrative, supply of assets and the successful realisation of press opportunities & events globally.

A certain amount of regular domestic and international travel will be required to attend and organise press, public and community events of varying natures. The Communications Manager will be expected to assume co-ordinating leadership for the majority of these trips and events, ensuring a smooth and well-organised experience all-round.

In addition to strong planning and project scheduling skills, the role demands enthusiastic relationship management and will serve an essential function in ensuring Alien IP titles are well-received by global media.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and set the global communications strategy for all Alien IP products ensuring input and approvals have been secured from all key stakeholders – development, brand, digital, FOX and the SEGA PR teams.
  • Working closely with development, FOX and/or external creative agencies schedule and clearly communicate required dates for all PR assets (screenshots, trailers, artwork, press releases, code etc.) to deliver upon each required PR beat.
  • Working with the Assistant Brand Manager ensure all relevant FOX stakeholders approve each PR asset deliverable in a timely fashion to enable each PR beat deadline can be achieved.
  • Ensure regular communication of the Global Communications Calendar, Brand Calendar and Campaign Snapshot to SEGA PR teams, FOX and other internal stakeholders in order to maximise all PR beats within each territories’ media.
  • Compile, gain input and approval from all relevant stakeholders (eg. FOX, brand, development, 1st party etc.) for requested or required press releases for distribution to SEGA PR teams.
  • Take leadership in organising and managing press events internationally and/or in the US, assuming responsibility for all parties involved either solo or in conjunction with SEGA PR managers and/or external agencies.
  • Collate from SEGA PR teams and regularly distribute internal reports, on global PR activity and results, to management, brand, FOX and the development team.
  • Efficiently, safely and rapidly manage the distribution of valuable, exclusive and confidential assets and information to multiple partners both external and internal using a variety of methods.
  • Own responsibility for the submission of Alien IP titles to any relevant industry awards and wider arts and media accolades.

Online Services Developer

Position Overview:

Our established Total War team are looking for a skilled developer to strengthen our online team and expand our online services offering. The successful applicant will have experience of working closely in a core team, dialoguing daily to reach common objectives. An important portion of development will be in the Erlang language, so previous experience in this, or a willingness to develop new skills will be required. Game client side development will be in C++, so knowledge of this language is required. Because much of the online services involve dealing with large amounts of data, a knowledge of working with relational SQL data and high-performance NoSQL stores is expected.

Key Responsibilities:

Take ownership of certain aspects of the Total War online offering, including architecture and interface design, implementation, and testing.
Dialogue with core team on a regular basis to keep everyone aware of developments.
Offer implementation solutions for design-led requirements.

Brand Manager

Position overview

A position of significant bottom-line responsibility for a talented and creative self-starter, working closely with both the CA development team and SEGA publishing PR, Marketing and Sales staff to be the lynchpin of a new F2P brand and player acquisition strategy globally.

Maximising the opportunities the digital marketplace offers while ensuring innovative, efficient and impactful campaigns to support an exciting new major IP title and DLC projects throughout their extended lifecycle will demand a knowledgeable and passionate individual.

Strong on communication, creativity and relationship management, the role demands great planning and interpersonal skills, adaptability and a consuming desire to hit deadlines, targets and budgets.

Having considerable marketing input in on-going game design functionality, the role holder will be astute, fast-working, tactful and mindful of the value of award-winning brand-building.

Key responsibilities

  • Own budget, strategic marketing plan and asset creation, implementation and post-execution analysis for a new F2P project, working in partnership with the central, territory and ESD teams as required.
  • Execute campaigns in close conjunction with strategy direction from the franchise Brand Manager, ESD Product Manager and implementation with the central marketing team and on-going community promotion with the Community Management team.
