Trainee Character Artist

We have a fantastic opportunity to join our multi-award winning Total War team as a Trainee Character Artist on our projects.

As a Trainee Character Artist, you will be mentored to develop your skills whilst working on our current Total War projects, giving the opportunity to gain insight on content from beginning to completion.

The traineeships will run for one year onsite at our studio in Horsham, West Sussex.

These traineeships are paid placements and all applicants must have the Right to Work in the UK.

Key Responsibilities

As Trainee Character Artist, you will create in-game character models from start to finish, with polished, working in-game models as the final goal. Working closely with your Character Art Lead, you will learn to work within set time constraints and to hit the high-quality benchmark required. You will take on board and implement feedback as appropriate.

Knowledge, Skill and Experience
 

Essential
  • A portfolio showing an understanding of anatomy and clothing/prop modelling for games, including high and low poly modelling
  • Working knowledge of Max, Maya or similar
  • Working knowledge of Zbrush and Photoshop
  • Positive, can-do attitude
Desirable 
  • Some Knowledge of Marvellous Designer
  • Some knowledge of rigging and skinning
  • Proficiency with Quixel or Substance Painter
