Senior Cinematic Artist

This is an excellent opportunity to join our Total War in-house cinematics team as a Senior Cinematic Artist.

In the role of Senior Cinematic Artist, you will be creating stunning trailers and cutscenes for Total War. You’ll have the opportunity to work on both our historical and fantasy Total War titles, collaborating with a team of artists and animators on all areas of cinematics.

Key Responsibilities

As a senior member of the cinematics department, you’ll be responsible for a variety of assets – from character driven trailers to in-game faction intros or real-time battle cutscenes.

You’ll have full responsibility for taking ideas from concept to final renders. Playing a pivotal role in all aspects of cinematics including script writing, layout, mocap planning, video editing, motion graphics and post-production.

You’ll need to work closely with both brand and game development teams to give, receive and implement feedback.

Working closely with the tools programmers, you will help to solve complex technical issues and build and improve our cinematics pipeline and toolset.

Knowledge, Skill and Experience 

  • Demonstrable understanding of scene composition, lighting and cinematography
  • Passionate about storytelling and narrative
  • Excellent animation skills for motion graphics and cinematic cameras
  • Experience using animating cameras and a graph editor
  • Experience with Adobe Premiere
  • Excellent written English
  • Love of games 
  • Familiarity with Total War Series
  • Working knowledge of Maya, Max or Motionbuilder
  • Photoshop and After Effects
  • Experience creating hard hitting motion graphics
  • Formal art training
  • Experience modding or with game engines e.g. Unreal Engine
