Infrastructure Lead

We are looking for an experienced IT professional to take a lead position in our in-house IT team, providing support to our AAA studio located in Horsham, West Sussex

In this role, your core responsibilities will be to lead your team and use your experience to work with the systems and employees within the department and get the best from them. This will allow our game developers to create great games, knowing their infrastructure is taken care of. It is essential to have good organisational skills to communicate progress with the IT Director regularly. You will draw on all your knowledge to bring new and innovative solutions to the studio and work closely with the IT Director on the technology we use for backups, storage, virtual infrastructure, cloud-based technologies, and others.

Key Responsibilities

Infrastructure Lead will work closely with the whole infrastructure team. You will look to be the architect and administrator of a large part of the infrastructure that runs the studio. You will be expected to project manage an already technically strong team to maintain a traditional infrastructure with virtual and physical servers and storage. We are also working with newer and innovative technologies, and large part of the role is to understand and maintain the focus of the infrastructure team and to triage the tasks presented to us by a busy studio.

Knowledge, Skill and Experience
  • Experience of leading a team
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Demonstrable experience in service delivery and a customer facing role
  • Extensive experience in delivering and managing large technical projects
  • VMware, Veeam, and other virtual infrastructure
  • Netapp, nimble, and other storage technologies
  • Cisco networking, and strung understanding of networking
  • O365 and other cloud-based applications
  • AWS and other cloud-based infrastructure
  • Active directory and domain administration
  • Linux, managing infrastructure
  • Frontline, ITIL and service delivery- Google cloud, Azure Cloud
  • Kubernetes, docker, or other containerisation systems
  • Terraform, cloud formation, or other scripting technologies
  • Interest in games and games development
