Communications Manager - CA Sofia

Marketing & PR Marketing & PR
We’re looking for an amiable, credible, well-organised person, with excellent written, verbal and personal communication skills, to represent one of Creative Assembly’s key brands.

As Communications Manager, you’ll represent the Total War games developed by CA Sofia, Creative Assembly’s newest development team, based in the historic capital of Sofia, Bulgaria.

This adventurous role will suit someone who embraces travel, sharing time between our main studio in Horsham (UK), CA Sofia (Bulgaria), and wherever else in the world the job takes you.

This position will be primarily located in Sofia, Bulgaria, but will begin with a 1-2 month training period with the UK Studio in Horsham. The role will require regular travel, including regular weeks spent at the Horsham Studio.

Key Responsibilities

As Communication Manager, your principle responsibilities will be to build a strong relationship with the development team, and champion the projects they’re working on.

Being an experienced gamer, you’ll have a sense for what makes a new title great, and you’ll be able to define what the media focus should be in terms of features that you know players will get excited about. Working closely with the developers, you’ll examine those features from all angles, chatting with the designers and playing in-development builds, and you’ll craft honest, thrilling and nuanced communications around them.

These communications will then be used by the wider CA Brand team – our Brand Managers, PR Managers, Community Managers and Influencer Managers, so they can promote the game effectively, accurately and in detail to the wider world. Your comms will directly contribute to PR planning, Marketing direction and messaging around the game, and define how it is perceived.

As the key international source of knowledge for CA Sofia’s games, you’ll champion them both internally and externally. You’ll be able to stand in for the developers in press and influencer interviews, present and demo your game to other stakeholders within CA and SEGA, and join the crew at large events such as E3, Gamescom, PAX, and any others where your game is on show.

We’re looking for someone who can take real ownership of exciting new Total War projects and communicate them effectively, in detail and with passion. Your background may be journalism or PR, or perhaps you’ve worked in a smaller studio and are looking to become part of something bigger but with going into corporate environment.
