Creative Assembly is looking for an Agile Coach to join our Live Services team at one of our studios based in Horsham, West Sussex.

As an Agile Coach, you will drive the adoption and optimisation of lean agile value and principles. Working directly with the teams you will help raise the level of agility and play a key role in engaging with stakeholders at all levels of the organisations to help facilitate agile transformation across the company .

This role would be suited to an experienced Scrum Master.

Flexible working at Creative Assembly includes hybrid, fully remote for eligible roles, and in-studio. We recognise that there is no one-size-fits-all approach and empower our teams to define the working patterns which work best for them, which may mean different things for different teams and roles and at different times.

This role is Hybrid and/or in-studio depending on candidate requirements. Further details can be discussed during the recruitment process.

Key Responsibilities

We are looking for someone who can follow Agile best practices by mentoring the Leads within the teams and transferring your knowledge to them. You will work with the engineering, product and quality assurance teams,  as well as their stakeholders to ensure alignment with business objectives.

On a day-to-day basis, you will:
  • Work with existing teams to diagnose where there are issues or opportunities to continually improve team ways of working or performance
  • Work closely with teams and leaders to support agile transformation and increase team performance and overall effectiveness
  • Work with the key roles across our teams and help them incorporate learning and feedback
  • Provide practical and contextual coaching guidance to individuals and teams, both technical and non-technical
  • Coach and train teams & managers on lean-agile principles & practices and related concepts using collaborative and engaging techniques, online and in person
  • Facilitate workshops, sessions, and retrospectives and train others on improving their facilitation skills
  • Guide teams and management on instilling a continuous improvement mindset
  • Develop and implement appropriate improvement and coaching plans to build self-organising teams
  • Help teams continuously reflect and improve, becoming more effective in their roles and increasing their predictability, collaboration, and quality practices.
Knowledge, Skill, and Experience

  • Strong Agile mindset
  • Several years of experience with a variety of Agile frameworks
  • Hands on experience as a Scrum Master and/or PO
  • Proven ability to articulate agile methods, tools and terms to teams and executives alike
  • Experience of scaling techniques and patterns
  • Knowledge & experience of Agile teachings, approaches, behaviours and of helping both teams and the wider organisation to address the dysfunctions that may result from teams and others misinterpreting, ignoring, or rejecting Lean and Agile values and principles
  • Certification in Agile delivery method or experience in one of the following frameworks: Lean, CMMI, Scrum, SAFe, LeSS Kanban
  • Experience facilitating events with geographically distributed teams and using a variety of techniques and collaboration tools
  • Knowledge of key components of a high performing team and experienced in techniques to increase team cohesion, collaboration, and teamwork
  • A deep understanding of the difference between coaching, training, and mentoring
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability and confidence to effectively facilitate large groups and present to large audiences.
  • Coaching Certification (ICP-ACC / CAL / Barefoot Coaching)
  • Strong understanding of systems engineering in waterfall and Agile environments.
